Position Summary
The Associate Director of Epidemiology Student Services manages, supervises, and coordinates the operations of the Epidemiology student programs. The Associate Director of Epidemiology Student Services works with Program Directors and assigned SPH Academic Coordinators to facilitate the recruitment, admission, on-boarding, community building, and education of our graduate students, manage and track applications, admission decisions, and funding awards for the Graduate Programs Admissions Committee. This position leads communication efforts with prospective graduate students via Slate and with prospective Assured Enrollment students in collaboration with the UNC Gillings Communications and Admissions team. This position works both independently and directly with the Director of Graduate Studies, Epidemiology faculty, the SPH Registrar, and others in the school to manage Epidemiology course scheduling (semester schedules, determining classroom needs, registration issues). The Associate Director leads the process of updating department student handbooks, Course Planning Worksheets, Canvas sites, and participates in the CEPH accreditation process. The Associate Director of Epidemiology Student Services develops communication strategy, designs communication and marketing campaigns to create community, strengthens students’ sense of belonging, and increases transparency about department, School, and University policies, processes, procedures, and systems. This position promotes ESO events and programming and leads the production of the Epidemiology Students newsletter. The Associate Director of Epidemiology Student Services plans student-centered events in collaboration with department program directors, including but not limited to beginning of the year welcome, midterm break, end of the year celebration, international student focus groups, and faculty/student potlucks. This position collaborates with the Gillings Office of Student Affairs for School-wide events (e.g., orientation, open houses, admitted student day). This position also supervises the Student Finance Coordinator, the Academic Program Services Coordinator, and one or more Graduate Research Assistants.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
- Master’s degree in communications, Education, or similar area - Experience in Supervision - Conducting information analysis and data management with the goal of maintaining sensitive information - Experience in marketing educational programs K-12 and Higher Education - Experience with Canva, Photoshop GradStar, Slate, Sakai
