Position Summary:

The Department of Epidemiology at the VCU School of Public Health is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Cancer Epidemiology for the Master of Public Health (MPH) program in Spring 2025. The course has once-a-week, 3-hour lectures focusing on the most prevalent cancers (lung, breast, prostate, colon, skin and GI), disparities and social determinants, prediction and screening, and other topics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates should hold an MPH or PhD in Epidemiology, Health Sciences Research, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience teaching graduate-level courses and conducting cancer research
