KANAWHA COUNTY
1 VACANCY

Develops and delivers training programs, resources, and technical assistance to medical providers on the reporting requirements for perinatal hepatitis C viral (HCV) cases and recommended guidelines for testing and treatment for women with hepatitis C.   Utilize various systems such as the West Virginia Electronic Disease Surveillance System (WVEDSS) and the West Virginia Statewide Immunization Information System (WVSIIS) to enter and update confidential viral hepatitis cases including perinatal hepatitis C investigations.   Relies on information generated through data linkages of the Vital Statistics birth and death records and the West Virginia Health Information Network (WVHIN) or collaborates with other offices within the agency to ensure timely and complete information is captured in case profiles for additional follow up activities.  Supports the Viral Hepatitis Program through review, management, and processing of hepatitis laboratory reports of hepatitis C to ensure timely and appropriate management of incoming laboratory and case reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Two (2) years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the area of employment may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one (1) year of experience.
OR 
Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work program from a regionally accredited college or university.

Note: Appointment above the entry rate may be made at 5% for each six (6) months of successfully completed work as an intern in a practicum placement with the Department of Health and Human Resources for the Master of Social Work degree.

Other Information


Substitution: One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the Health and Human Resources series may substitute for the required training and experience.
