Job Overview



The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Epidemiologist Surveillance Specialist in the Department of Disease Surveillance. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
 

Responsible for assisting in the implementation of health-related surveillances systems or epidemiologic studies, including outbreak investigation and analysis of epidemiology surveys, data collection, data analysis, prepare technical reports, and perform related duties as assigned.

This position is funded by a grant and the continuation of the position depends on the availability of grant funds and the business requirements of SNHD. If the funding is discontinued or becomes unavailable, your employment may be terminated without the right to appeal.





Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in public health, social science, health science or related field or equivalent AND one (1) year of experience supporting public health programs with data collection or in public health surveillance and/or medical chart abstraction.
 
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Valid Nevada driver's license, or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
