Epidemiologist
Location: Fairfax County, VA
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Normal Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Overview:
The Epidemiologist monitors, investigates, and analyzes patterns of disease and health conditions in Fairfax County. This role applies epidemiologic methods to identify health risks, recommend interventions, and support public health decision-making

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct disease surveillance and analyze epidemiologic data to detect trends and outbreaks
• Investigate cases and outbreaks of communicable and non-communicable diseases
• Design and implement epidemiologic studies and surveys
• Prepare and present reports for public health leadership, community partners, and the public
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal health agencies to support coordinated response efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field
• Experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, or SPSS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of applied epidemiology or public health surveillance experience
• Experience communicating technical findings to non-technical audiences
