About the Role
The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an Epidemiologist 1 to support the Rural Fetal and Infant Health Initiative (RFIHI). This role focuses on epidemiological analysis, data quality, program evaluation, reporting, dashboards, visualization, and technical assistance supporting fetal and infant health initiatives in rural Tennessee communities.
Responsibilities

Analyze maternal, fetal, infant, vital statistics, PPOR, hospital discharge, and other public health datasets.

Develop and maintain databases, dashboards, data tracking systems, reports, and data visualization products.

Perform data collection, validation, cleaning, quality assurance, integration, and linkage across multiple data sources.

Support program evaluation, performance monitoring, grantee reporting, and CMS Rural Health Transformation Program requirements.

Provide technical assistance and communicate epidemiological findings to program staff, grantees, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Requirements

Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of epidemiological and statistical analytical methods.

Experience working with large datasets, multiple data sources, databases, data validation, quality assurance, and reporting.

Experience with statistical software; SAS experience preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
