Leads county epidemiology operations by directing disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, epidemiologic analysis, and data reporting to support timely, data-driven public health decision-making. Oversees epidemiology staff, develops operational protocols, and communicates actionable findings to leadership, partners, and the public.
Examples of Duties

Direct disease surveillance activities by overseeing data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant public health information.
Lead outbreak investigations and response efforts by assessing epidemiologic information, establishing investigative priorities, and coordinating internal and external response activities.
Supervise epidemiology staff by assigning work, evaluating performance, addressing personnel issues, and supporting staff development and training.
Develop and implement epidemiologic policies, procedures, and protocols to standardize data collection, analysis, reporting, and program operations.
Coordinate with healthcare providers, state and federal agencies, laboratories, and community partners to resolve reporting issues, share information, and align response strategies.
Interpret epidemiologic findings and communicate trends, risks, and recommendations to leadership, stakeholders, and the public in a clear and actionable manner.
Support emergency preparedness and incident response activities by participating in response planning and helping establish operational priorities during public health events.
Guide data-informed program direction by identifying emerging threats, evaluating data quality, and recommending interventions, resource priorities, and response actions.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related field.
Five years of experience in epidemiologic analysis, disease surveillance, communicable disease investigation, and outbreak response.Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience in a public health or epidemiology setting preferred.
Experience interpreting and communicating complex epidemiologic and public health data to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership and stakeholders.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with healthcare providers, local, state, and federal agencies, laboratories, and community partners. Supplemental Information
