Job Description:

 WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position

The Senior Director, HEOR & RWE will strategically lead the United States HEOR and RWE team, driving the development and execution of health economics and real-world evidence (RWE) strategies to support Ipsen’s current and future portfolio. This role is critical in shaping evidence generation plans that demonstrate the value of Ipsen’s therapies to external stakeholders, including payers and healthcare institutions.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, US Medical Affairs & Regulatory Head, the Senior Director will oversee the design, implementation, and dissemination of scientifically rigorous outcomes research, including both clinical and observational studies. They will be responsible for developing HEOR tools and insights that address key research questions and stakeholder needs, in alignment with evolving FDA guidance.

The Senior Director will work cross-functionally to ensure HEOR strategies are integrated across the organization, collaborating closely with U.S. Medical Affairs, Commercial, Value & Access (V&A), and Global HEOR teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, scientific expertise, and the ability to translate complex data into impactful communications for diverse audiences.

WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

  • Set the strategy for the US HEOR group across Ipsen Portfolio and in partnership with US and global teams.

  • Ensure the conduct of methodologically sound and comprehensive feasibility studies for potential outcomes research for priority HEOR evidence needs, design methodologically rigorous HEOR studies and projects, in collaboration with internal and external researchers.  This position will take the HEOR research from concept to publication.

  • Manage study quality, resources, project plan, vendors and writing/editing scientific content.

  • Supervise the development and refinement of AMCP dossiers, budget impact models, and value communication tools.

  • Assess and conduct or lead large database sets analyses using secondary data sources such as healthcare claims, electronic medical record databases or publicly available datasets for HEOR projects.

  • Accountable to manage the HEOR budget and delivering the projects on time.

  • Communicate and leverage approved HEOR evidence and tools to key population decision makers including payers, integrated delivery networks, PBs, institutions to inform healthcare decision making and the place of Ipsen products in therapy.

  • Collaborate, as appropriate, with other customer-facing teams to provide comprehensive customer support, such as field Value and Access, and field medical colleagues.

  • Complies with all regulatory laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff for HCEI outcomes and presentations.

HOW - Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

  • 12+ years’ relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 10 years in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and a minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing field role.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams or initiatives, demonstrating the ability to lead without formal authority.

  • Demonstrated expertise in health services research, health economics, and retrospective observational research from inception through publication.

  • Strategic thinker with a strong track record of cross-functional partnership.

  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare system, policies, and context.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), project management, and vendor management skills.

  • Experience presenting HEOR data to external audiences, field HEOR and/or US market experience and drug launch experience required.

  • Real-world evidence (RWE) experience is essential.

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):

  • Clinical background is preferred.

  • Experience with SAS programming and working with large databases is a plus.

Education / Certifications (essential):

  • Advanced degree (MS, MPH, MBA) in Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy, or a related quantitative discipline is required.

Language(s) (essential):

  • Fluent in English.

The annual base salary range for this position is $217,500-$319,000.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program as well as our long-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
